Improve Speech Recognition with AI
planned
Craig Walker
The current speech-to-text recognition engine from the phone doesn't cut it anymore. We need a more intuitive speech engine that is more accurate. AI is the only thing currently that can handle this.
Since it costs money platforms like OpenAI's speech to text https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/speech-to-text, this will be included as a premium feature while free users will still get the on-device speech recognition.

Voice stops working
Cecelia Martin
I have started to use the app and I want to test myself speaking my par. However it keeps saying that it needs Google Voice and I have that installed. I back out and go back in and it works but only for a moment. I hit the record button it will only record maybe a sentence before it stops. I can't get it to record a full paragraph Without constantly having to hit the microphone button. I'm on an Android , Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Instead of just reading I as “I” the voice says “Capital I” and reads 119:11 as hours and minutes when it is really chapter and verse.

Speaking Bug

Speech-to-text is tricky, I understand, but the desktop app does a really poor job of this. And whenever I try to correct the text before submitting for correction, unless it's a very short text, there's a bug in the text window that after a few corrections makes everything go haywire. I would have to go back and type the whole thing over, and so I throw up my hands and submit the gobbledygook. This feature is better on the ios app, but it's no fun (and a lot slower) typing corrections into my phone. The text correction window not glitching out should be a basic feature. I also want to note that there haven't been any updates in a long time. Fix what needs fixing! Premium user here who otherwise loves the app.

Speech Engine not recognized

I try to use the speech method and it says the speech engine is not installed. I go to install and it takes me to Google search which is already installed. I can get it to work somewhat but it only takes a few words and cuts out constantly. Very poor performance. What do I need to do to fix this?

The speech recognition is very poor and does not pick up my voice properly. Apart from this though I have no complaints. Please fix this one problem and voila, an app perfecto!

I will get penalized when reciting a paragraph for saying “number one” when “#1” is in the script. Saying New Jersey instead of “NJ”

This is almost an impossible task: how is the app supposed to know when “New Jersey” means “NJ” or any other infinite possible combination of acronyms. The work around to this is to “edit” right before you submit it
